EDU-CARE is a voluntary Organization, registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 with the Government of India, to work for the welfare of poor, needy and disabled children of our country. EDU-CARE consists of young ad very dedicated volunteers who have helped many families to realize their dreams of good education and very expensive medical facilities which is their only life line in some cases. EDU-CARE works to help children in the field of education and health irrespective of their region and religion in many states of our country.
Activities
EDU-CARE is an effort to bridge the gap between people who are blessed with the best of health, education and excellent family background, and those, who have never tasted a square meal all their life and also other very unfortunate patients who don’t have enough money to supplement their expensive medical treatment, availing which is their only road to survival.
We aim at creating awareness on crucial subjects like Thalassemia which could be avoided only through simple medical tests in absence of which the child may get affected by this disorder which causes serious emotional, social, economical and physical stress, beyond human endurance.
Health Initiatives
Thalassemia – It’s genetic disorder and affects a child only by birth. Any child suffering with this deadly genetic do not have the capacity to manufacture a single drop of blood in their bodies. In order to survive, these children require regular blood transfusions every month, lifelong, as this has no cure. Steps taken by EDU-CARE
To stop the spread of Thalassemia by creating awareness on the issue through small talks and seminars across many states through small talks and seminars across many states through schools, colleges, clubs etc.
To trace and identity the patients belonging to families with low income and supporting them financially in their blood transfusions, because the cost comes to around Rs.15000/- per month.
Providing the cost of infrastructure such as beds, mattresses, refrigerators, water purifiers, water coolers, fans, books etc. to various NGOs and hospitals for setting up separate comfortable wards for these patients.
Sponsoring free HPCL test for Thalassemia, for a minimum of 200 members, belonging to the below poverty line criteria @ Rs.400/- per test. The aim is to get the data of the carriers in advance to check the birth of such children.
Hepatitis B – It is even more dangerous than AIDS. It is the last stage of jaundice and kills the patients in no time. It spreads y infected patients, open cut or wounds and also y infected people in hospitals and other public places. Steps taken by EDU-CARE
To create awareness on the disease and provide free of cost vaccinations to at least 5000 children belonging to the slums and villages every year.
Education Initiatives
To create awareness on various social issues and motivate the participation of the general public in person, kinds and finances.
To identify the right and deserving students and support them in education in the best schools across many states in terms of school fees, uniform and books till they pass out STD 12th.
To help the poor schools y upgrading their libraries and sponsoring teachers y paying salaries to various schools being run for the underprivileged.
Running free education centers in villages for the children belonging to very poor and financially backward families.
Organizing inter-school competitions for all the schools being run for the underprivileged children in order to instill confidence in them and also identify talents in these children.
Free distribution of uniforms, blankets, study materials, sport materials, etc.
To support free sewing classes being run to empower the poor to earn respectable income to support their families.
